We’ve had so much rain this month. I splurged and bought indoor recess activities. Anything to keep them busy, right?

It's our 100th Day of School!
Today we had our 100th Day celebration plus Pajama Day! Exciting and comfy, right? This is one of my many favorite days of the school year. Here are pics of the fun!
Here is the sign I had hanging from our doorway.
We started our morning with our AMSTI ladies who came in to teach a fun lesson on liquid nitrogen.
We also made necklaces using Fruit Loops. It took me a few years to realize pipe cleaners were the trick for stringing cereal.

This little guy is modeling the 100th day hats we made while the rest of the kids are working on their 100th Day Snacks! I assigned students different items to bring in so we wouldn't have too little of one thing and too much of another.

Veterans Day at BES
We get so excited about Veterans Day! At BES we have a huge program and then we go outside and release balloons. Yep! The entire student body gets a balloon and up they go!

Hey Ya'll!
I'm so excited. This is my first time blogging. I've always wanted a blog to share all the creative and crazy things we do in 1st grade. I'll have to start by sharing my classroom. This is my second year at my school. I decided to transfer from my last school after teaching there 12 years. I know you're thinking transferring after 12 years . . . CRAZY right?
This summer when we met with our new principal, he told us to start thinking outside the box. Our system is about to turn to academies beginning the 2018-2019 school year. My school is going to be a Fine Arts academy! So I searched for something unique for my kiddos. Well, here's what I came up with for my reading nook. Isn't it cool? The kids just love it! They call it the Monkey Shack! I have a super, talented hubby. He can build just about anything. I'll show you more on my next blog post.
